Suddenly, dark clouds cover the sun, the street turns grey, and the children are silent now, as a group of 5 Taliban in long white robes and black face masks, line up behind them.
"We're going to cut your heads off.....one by one," says the meanest-looking Taliban, as he pulls an immense, curved saber out of its sheath....."Who wants to be first?"
The children's eyes open wide with terror, while the other 4 Taliban begin to masturbate underneath their white robes, in anticipation of the children's screams.

Soft music, now.

A US Marine in full battle-gear, slowly walks towards the Taliban who don't see him coming because their backs are turned to him.
The US Marine lifts up his weapon and obliterates all 5
Taliban-monsters with a single sweep of his
arm....then slowly walks away again.

The dark clouds recede, the sun begins to shine, and we once again hear the happy laughter of children playing in a
dusty, Middle-Eastern street.

This happened for real
in Pakistan, last week.
Except.....there was no US Marine
and all the children died.

I don't know how it started. Most likely with Austin City Limits. Or on television's late shows? In any case, really lousy bands.....bands so bad, that you simply can't survive listening to them....started to be passed-off as good ones. And the public either couldn't tell the difference, or they just plain didn't give a damn. Anyway.....those who are promoting this shit, have finally found a name for it.
They call it "ART ROCK"!!!

Which, of course, got me to thinking about other names for other kinds of lousy things.

Like: "ART FOOD".....which would be served in really artsy restaurants, where they'd prepare such esoteric dishes as 12 individual green peas stuffed with itty-bitty meatballs.

Or "ART INVESTMENTS" .....oops!.....Bernie Madoff beat me to it!

How about "ART TV"....which might be a 90-minute camera-close-up of a sidewalk, with once in a while, an ant crawling over it....or a leaf falling down on it.....or a cigarette being tossed near the leaf and another ant now crawling over the cigarette.....

I feel a whole lot better now.
Sometimes, just writing down an annoying
thought will chase it away forever.

I just read an interesting blog post about what it means to be an African American. In reality, however, there's no such thing, and I despise the term, no matter who uses it for whatever their reason.
Any individual who was either born in the US or became a citizen via naturalization, is an AMERICAN.......PERIOD.......and if they call themselves an African-American or a Latino-American or a Chinese-American, they are, ipso facto, a racist individual.

I discovered this treasure quite by accident.
It's the Bangladesh Parliament Building designed by US architect Louis Kahn, who somehow, miraculously, completed this immense project, in spite of the fact that Bangladesh didn't have enough money to do so.

The Bangladesh Government and the Bangladesh population are said to have thanked Louis Kahn for having given them a place in which to establish the democratic ideals that had eluded them for centuries.

Louis Kahn created a masterpiece, with this building. The unusual shape and placement of its windows, is a design-phenomenon that, as far as I know, had never before been utilized anywhere else.

Each time I look at the Bangladesh Parliament, I smile.......because it is perfect, elegant, powerful, and totally magnificent.
Its concept makes me happy.
It makes the entire world
a more beautiful place!
